I am Dr. Rosemary LoGiudice. I and my English Cocker Spaniels, Otter & Dunkin, welcome you to the website for my Veterinary Sports Medicine and Veterinary Physical Rehabilitation practice, ARTS (Animal Rehabilitation, Therapy, & Sports Medicine). Enhancing the quality of life for your horse, dog, or cat is my goal. By integrating the science and ART of veterinary medicine, I will work with you and with your primary care veterinarian to enhance and help to maintain your animal’s optimal athletic ability, enhance your animal’s recovery from orthopedic surgery, and/or strengthen your animal’s overall mobility and zest for life. Some of the services I offer include sports medicine physical evaluations and conditioning consultations and evaluations (“pre-habilitation”), physical rehabilitation consults and recommendations, as well as performing VSMT (“veterinary chiropractic”, which is based on receptor-based therapy and applied neurology after a thorough motion palpation evaluation is performed - which can help detect subtle joint motion deficits before they show up as clinical problems), Acupuncture, Diagnostic Musculoskeletal Ultrasound examinations, Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation, and Digital Thermal Imaging evaluations.
A 1981 graduate of the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine, I am a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation (DACVSMR) (I am presently the only Board Certified Canine Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation veterinarian in Illinois outside of the U of IL College of Vet. Med.). I am also a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist (CCRT) (trained and certified through the Canine Rehabilitation Institute (CRI), (and I have been on faculty at CRI), Certified in Veterinary Spinal Manipulative Therapy (CVSMT/ “animal chiropractic”) (trained and certified through the Healing Oasis Wellness Center where I am also a senior instructor/faculty member) as well as a Fellow of the College of Animal Chiropractors (CoAC), and a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist (CVA) for horses, dogs and cats (trained and certified through the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine), with over 38 years experience as a veterinarian (DVM) and approximately 55 years of experience with horses, as well as with dogs.
